Logbook Pro PC Edition 1.11.9 Released |
Logbook Pro version 1.11.9 is available and is a
FREE update for all of our PC edition customers.
As our loyal customers know Logbook Pro has been a
great investment as
we have not charged a single
upgrade fee in over 13 years! We take pride in
the use of our software and we're thrilled Logbook
Pro is the standard in the aviation community for
electronic logbooks. If you don't have 1.11.9
installed simply uninstall your existing Logbook Pro
software, click the link above and install the
newest version. Uninstall/Reinstall does NOT
affect your data or activation so update right away
and enjoy the great features and reliability and
trust that you have nothing but the best.
Revisions in 1.11.9:
- NEW: FAR 121 and FAR 135 reports now prompt
for an date when running the report allowing
pilots to look ahead at their limits or review
prior limit data based on the specified date.
The default is to generate the limitations based
on today's date, however, with Logbook Pro for
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Android having the
option to sync pending flights, airline pilots
can use this feature to review limits based on
scheduled flying ahead.
- Changed "My Sync" on the toolbar to "Cloud
Sync"
- Fixed an issue related to pending flights
from apps when no Aircraft Ident was supplied.
Aircraft Type is required for pending flights to
sync into Logbook Pro PC edition. Be sure to
check Settings/Schedule Importer if you use the
iPhone/iPad/Android app and sync pending flights
as set in Settings/Synchronization.
- Warning period for currency and FAR 121/135
settings in Options/Currency were not being
persisted
- Fixed an issue on the Jeppesen style report
(non split-report) when in single-page layout
and using a signature image, the image would not
align in the signature block properly
- Fixed an issue with Jeppesen style custom
template reports (non split-report) where Flight
Simulator column heading would not appear.

Major update - Logbook Pro for Android 1.0.5 Released |
We're proud to announce the release of Logbook Pro
for Android 1.0.5. We have
finally taken this app to the feature complete state
and achieved our goals in reliability and stability.
As with any new software product it takes time to
iron out the small issues and we have finally done
that! We had an issue that unfortunately
affected our International users where you could run
the app but after the initial sync it would just
shut down and not run again! Not good!
It is fixed so if you're reading this and you were
affected by this issue and you gave up, give it
another try. Download Logbook Pro for Android
on the Android Market and we are sure you will be
pleased and it will work as everyone that reported
this issue was given the pre-release version to
verify the fix prior to the public release.
With that said we have a solid app now, stable,
reliable, and as with all our Logbook Pro products,
accurate! Go to the Android Market to update
your installed app or install Logbook Pro if you
have not yet done so. We are sure you will be
pleased, the reviews have been amazing! Thank
you ALL for your outstanding support, patience, and
great ideas making this product what it is today.

Logbook Pro for iPhone/iPad 2.4.1 Released |

Cloud Sync - Where are we going with this? |
Cloud Sync is our innovative system for
synchronizing data between our apps (iPhone, iPad,
Android) and Logbook Pro PC edition. As you
may not realize, Apple does not allow developers to
sync apps via cable/iTunes so we have to come up
with an alternative method to synchronize our data.
Some have dealt with messy pairing of device to
computer over WiFi network, or who knows what, we
were not going to make you suffer like this!
When developing our first iPhone app release we
pioneered a cloud sync system to take the pain and
suffering out of synchronizing your apps so you can
spend more time flying than fiddling with your
computer! Other sync methods have also proven
less than reliable, our cloud sync system is 100%
reliable! As we say "it just works" and that's
exactly how it is.
We enjoyed our newest Android app customers posting
their reviews citing their amazement with our cloud
sync system and we thank you for the great feedback
and we are thrilled with your remarks. We're
also glad we can bring your these apps free and keep
costs to a minimum. Buy one cloud sync
universal subscription and enjoy all your free apps
for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Android phone, Android
tablet all for one low subscription to sync.
Some ask about getting all of their data between PC
and apps. Yes, that is the plan, but for now
we wanted to walk before we run and make sure we
have all the right pieces in place as this
infrastructure is quite complex, and expensive
nonetheless. It's not always a great idea to
have your complete logbook on a device and we're not
going to put your or your data in a position where
there could be a problem. We wrote a parody on
this announcing "Logbook
Pro Watch Edition" a few newsletters ago.

it right and we have achieved our goals and we're
ready to take this to the next level. In fact
we've been developing our cloud infrastructure the
past five years so you're just now seeing the
beginnings of what we've been working on.
With our next round of applications we are planning
on data anywhere - full synchronization! So
those that ask about full sync, yes, it is coming,
rest assured. That is the plan.

Development Road Map Update |
We've been busy cranking out updates and we have
a few new things in the works and we're continuously
evolving our road map of what's ahead. As you
know we recently added Logbook Pro for Android to
our software inventory but there are obviously other
platforms out there we don't support and I'm sure
you want to know if and when? And of course
what about APDL?
Earlier this year we intended to move forward with
Logbook Pro for Microsoft's Windows Phone platform
(Windows Phone 7). With the domination of iOS
(Apple) and Android, Windows Phone 7 has had a
difficult time gaining market share. Microsoft
just released their "Mango" update to Windows Phone
which is a significant update, almost a rebirth of
the product which finally brings it up to speed,
where it needs to be to compete. However, we
are heavy into our next major PC release and that is
our priority effort from this point forward so we
are deferring Windows Phone support until after the
PC vNext is released sometime in 2012. We also
have to watch to see if Windows Phone 7 will gain
traction, which I think it will.
Blackberry is a great platform but is on the
decline. I don't have an optimistic feeling
for the future of RIM/Blackberry especially as they
don't cater to the developers like Apple, Google,
and Microsoft have. For this reason we are
going to have to sit back and watch to see what
happens with Blackberry as we don't have the
resources to invest at this time in a potentially
declining platform.
WebOS as you know is now a dead product as HP has
been going through quite a bit of
change/controversy. Someone else may pick it
up, it would be a shame to see the Palm legacy die
off but with Apple/Google/Microsoft dominating the
market it's a tough sell.
APDL: It is amazing the passion our airline
community has for this product and we hear you, and
please hear us, APDL is not dead, it is far from
that, we just can't discuss it at this time!
Catch my drift? Good things come to those who
wait - please be patient! For those that have
used our iPhone/Android apps you may not have
noticed that we have clearly stated in the App
Store/Android Market product descriptions that this
product does NOT replace APDL. Airline pilots
- you may not know this but we have two completely
separate lines of products: APDL and Logbook
Pro. The Logbook Pro app has a lot to help
airline pilots and many have found it sufficient for
their needs and have replaced APDL with our
iPhone/Android apps with schedule importer
integration, FAR 121/135 features, and great reports
and lookback information at your finger tips with
the seamless cloud sync system.
Our PC product is still the most reliable, accurate,
and trusted logbook bar none. People using
other products need a photographic memory as some
notable products are notable for their
unreliability, crashes, and data loss! We
would never stand for that in Logbook Pro.
With that said, we have been working years on our
innovative new PC product and we're making great
headway. We are on target for our 2012
release.
We have another secret project in the works we hope
to announce in late October. Stay tuned!!!
